Sue Bergamo - detailed bio

As a global CIO & CISO, Sue brings her leadership and broad technology experience to help companies concentrate on growth by promoting innovation and productivity enhancements through the creation of secure cloud applications, infrastructure operations, data analytics, business process optimization and talent management. She’s held strategic positions at Microsoft, ActiveCampaign, Precisely, Episerver, Aramark, and CVS Pharmacy. Sue brings big company experiences to the SMB market, without the bureaucracy. Sue is certified cloud architect and internal auditor and has several degrees, she is a Executive Team and Board member for SIM (Society for Information Management) and is the Program Director for Brandeis University’s Masters in Security Leadership program. She is a technical and business advisor to several startup companies across the world.


Built several global InfoSec programs, based on the ISO 27001/CIS/NIST standards including security engineering, security operations, fraud, GRC and the implementation/certification for ISO 27001, SOC2, PCI-DSS, GDPR in AWS and Azure environments. Created a digital transformation strategy and procured the investment to replace all internal applications for a global eCommerce company. Highlights include a simultaneous global ERP (NetSuite) & CRM (SalesForce) implementation, including deprecating Legacy apps and migrating disparate applications obtained through two acquisitions. Performed due diligence for several corporate transactions in technology and security, including company sales/closures and integration efforts including (Microsoft) Dell-EMC, (CVS Pharmacy) Albertsons, (Staples) Corporate Express, (PriMed) Company Sale, Aramark (Wear-Guard Crest) Closure, (Episerver) Optivo, Idio, Insite, Company Sale, (Precisely) Infogix, Company Sale, and (ActiveCampaign) Postmark.


Created a strategic plan and operating model that enabled a high-tech ESP to achieve a 90% revenue gain, by aligning initiatives in sales, support, marketing, finance and IT. Completed a data center refresh in 3 months, to increase capacity (servers, firewalls, switches, backup/DR, power and virtualization of 120+ VM’s). Led the strategy and enterprise-wide implementation (32,000) of 14 processes based on ITIL and led a transformation effort impacting 3500 employees. Established a company-wide strategic roadmap/operating plan that resulted in a 90% growth in revenue, budgets, a resource capacity model, introduced new MTA products and implemented a new security program, including end-point, firewall, risk and compliance management.
